How to Photograph Artwork with Accurate Color and No Glare

$15

This video covers the equipment and process I use to capture paintings.

I will provide links to the equipment I used in the video, but you don't need it to be as expensive as what I am using. Lots of light is key, and look for lights that have a high CRI. 90 or above and 95+ is ideal.

Camera

Lens - I am using a 105mm in the video, but a 50mm or 85mm is great as well

Lights - I chose this kind of LED, as opposed to a panel ligh,t so that I could use light modifiers, like the included soft box. It is a standard mount, so you have tons of options. This also makes it easier to attach the polarizing film.

Linear Polarizing Film - This isn't what I used in the video, but the place I bought it is out of business. This should work the same, though.

Cardboard Holders for the film - You could make these, but they are handy to just buy too.

Circular Polarizer - Link to Tiffen Circular Polarizers. You'll want to buy one of the appropriate sizes for your lens

Tripod - This is my tripod that I also use with my painting kit. But you can use any tripod; you just want it to be sturdy and easily adjustable.
